Today's newspaper front page talks about the Pay Spike. There is a table stating the unemployment rate%. It is amazing the RESIDENT is higher than the OVERALL?
Even though the employment rate is good but still the RESIDENT unemployment rate is still higher than the OVERALL. Who are the OVERALL? Can the RESIDENT unemployment rate be lower than the OVERALL?
Another joke! One economist said" Everyone will be able to afford expensive noodles!". What is he talking about! Does it mean that everyone has to change job to get better Pay so eat expensive noodles!? As the financial industry is doing well, of course he can afford it now! I will wait until he is out of job! Then we will see what he will have to say then! Really a Joker of all times! He just thinking for himself! How the others whom are not as lucky as others!? Disgusted with this type of people giving such type of comments!

Everything is Going Up and Up!

It seems very thing are going up these days! Even a bowl of noodle and bread goes up by 30 to 50 cents. This is due to the reason that flour price has gone up! Nowsadays, even the coffee shop foods has gone up! Fruits has gone! Transportation gone up! Consumers product gone up! Petrol gone up! Stock gone up! Apartment and Housing (Private 5.8% and HDB 6.6% up the pricing) price gone up with a lot cash over valuation! Apartment and House Rental ERP will go up next Monday!
Everything has gone up! Salary is stagnant! Some even got retrenched like my friends! Some got pay rise! Some are jobless!
Everything has sky rocketed to the roof top!
With the US credit crush issue with the housing and banking, will USA goes into recession and affect SG too! I think that the chance is high! With Meril Lynn has written off today about USD7.9billion or more due to the bad debt with the housing loan which the loss was suppose to be about USD 2.24billion. It is worse than expected! I think a short recession (50% 50% chance) is coming soon next year in Q2!

Retrenchment during Booming Economy?

While the Singapore economy is booming, there are still people been retrenched. One of my friends is facing the retrenchment by the end of the month. He is working for a major MNC and listed in Nasdaq and SG. My friend has worked for this company for a long time (like 10 years) and loyal servant to this major MNC company.
At the age of near 40s, he is worried if he can get a job in the market. He has to worry as he has to support his family too! It makes me worried to see this happening too! during booming economy Will we survive after retrenchment after 40s? With the great number of foreigners influx, there will be more challenges ahead to compete to get a good job! I think that we have to be persistent and get more ready than before! We have to constantly make ourself valuable and needed all the times with our past job experiences!
Today, there is a article in The Straits Times to lift the cap of the foreigner workers in a company. This will create more competition for Singaporean to find a good job!

Relationship: Break Up or Playing up?

This morning, I was chatting with a friend today whom is facing problem with the boyfriend. Initially, I thought that they were breaking up but it was not. She want the boyfriend to spend more times with her as the bf is spending most of the times at work. She was not happy at all.
So i have asked her the following quesitons:
1. Do you love him? Does he love you?
2. Are you happy with him? Now? and Future? Future may be a bit tough!
3. Is the man you want?
4. Do you think he will be a good husband?
5. Are both of you still communicating?
To my surprise, she said good things about the bf. I am really amazed.
She said that he is
1. Better than last time. Wow! What be bad or worse in the past! It make her feel better. Wow!
2. He is more confident person!?
In the ending, she was complaining the bf does not understanding the feeling. I suggested the following to her:
1. Seat down and talk
2. Weighs the happy times and not happy times
3. what is good about and not good about him? Like the Pros and Cons!?
4. Lastly, i told her to study herself too. What are the Pros and Cons too? As one says "Understand yourself first before understanding others".
The statement of the day from her bf:
"This morning, the bf told me to let me choose a man who can put up me in the first place!"
It is a relationship and not a game! I told to think seriously and she agreed.
What do you think out there? Any other comments?

I was at Versailles City Central and there was the Live or French Market. It is like Singapore Pasar Malan market. There are many things sold at the market. I think most of the things sold are from China or made in China. However, it is all in Euro dollars.
